Galloway-Chandler-McKinney Insurance was formed in 1993 when Jimmy Galloway of Columbus and Kyle Chandler, III, and Steve McKinney of West Point teamed up with the idea of forming an independent insurance agency that was regional in scope yet had offices in multiple locations. The concept was to be large enough to offer customers the best possible choices while maintaining the personal connection to a community so they could genuinely serve their fellow citizens.
Today, sons Brandt Galloway and Kyle Chandler, IV, are among the company’s leadership. GCM maintains offices in Columbus and West Point but manages insurance plans for customers across the Southeast.

Galloway Chandler McKinney Insurance Named the Area’s Only Locally-Owned Best Practices Agency
Columbus, Miss. – For the eleventh year, Galloway Chandler McKinney Insurance has been named a Best Practices Agency – the Golden Triangle’s only locally-owned agency with this recognition. The designation comes from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA, or the Big “I”) and indicates the company is among an elite group of independent insurance agencies around the United States participating in the “Best Practices” Study Group. Only 287 agencies qualified for the honor, among more than 2,600 that were nominated throughout the country.

The Best Practices Study was initiated by IIABA in 1993 as the foundation for efforts to improve agency performance. The annual study is conducted by the Big “I” and Reagan Consulting of Atlanta, GA, to document the business practices of these “best” agencies and urge others to adopt similar practices.
